On Thursday, Manchester City will face Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup in Greece.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City can justifiably put the Premier League holders on the European map tonight after winning their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy last season. Guardiola’s Manchester City concluded their long wait for a Champions League trophy by defeating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final of Europe’s greatest club competition.
Manchester City will face UEFA Europa League holders Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Thursday, in what has become the traditional start to the new European season. Man City, the Premier League champions, will be without Kevin De Bruyne, who has been ruled out for up to four months with a catastrophic hamstring injury. Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva of Manchester City have both been left out of the team due to concussions and illness, respectively.

Before facing Manchester City in Greece, Sevilla had competed in the Super Cup six times. Man City failed to win their first prize of the new season after they were defeated in the FA Community Shield by Premier League rivals Arsenal. Last season, Manchester City defeated Sevilla 4-0 in Seville and 3-1 in Manchester in the Champions League group stage.
The UEFA Super Cup match between Manchester City and Sevilla is set to begin at 12:30 a.m. IST on Thursday.
The 2023 UEFA Super Cup will be held at Greece’s Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis.
The UEFA Super Cup 2023 will have a live broadcast on Sony Sports Network in India.
