“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me,” writes Meta boss.
MARK ZUCKERBERG CALLED OUT Elon Musk for skipping their cage bout in a post on the Meta honcho’s Threads on Sunday.
While Musk xeeted about the fight’s specifics this week — including its Roman venue, streaming information, and who the proceeds will go to — the X boss has yet to settle on an event date, which has frustrated Zuckerberg to the point of calling the whole thing off (for now).
“I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious, and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg said in a statement. “I proposed a real date.” Dana White promised to make this a legitimate charity competition. Elon refuses to specify a date, then claims he requires surgery and now requests a practice round in my garden.”
Tensions between the two tech warriors’ then-Twitter and Threads erupted in June, with Musk declaring that he’d be “up for a cage fight” with his Meta foe. “Send Me Location,” Zuckerberg retorted. Musk then sealed the deal by saying, “If this is for real, I’ll do it.”

In the months afterwards, the two have disputed the practicalities of the battle on their own social apps, but have never agreed on an actual event date. Zuckerberg, who has been practicing Brazilian jiujitsu for a year and was the strong betting favorite in the hypothetical cage match, did not rule out a Musk fight entirely, but recommended his opponent to take it seriously.
“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me,” added Zuck. “Also, it’s time to move on.” I’m going to concentrate on competing against people who are serious about the sport.”
