Sri Lanka’s batting order was destroyed by Mohammed Siraj’s scorching six-wicket performance
In the Asia Cup 2023 final, Mohammed Siraj delivered a stunning six-wicket spell that destroyed Sri Lanka. Dasun Shanaka, the captain of Sri Lanka, decided to bat first after winning the toss, but his choice backfired dramatically when Siraj startled the Sri Lankan batting order with his four wickets in one over.
Siraj dismissed Pathum Nissanka with two runs, Sadeera Samarawickrama with a duck, Charith Asalanka with a duck, and Dhanjaya de Silva with four runs in the fourth over of the Sri Lankan inning.

As Sri Lanka fell from 8/2 to 12/6, their captain Dasun Shanaka was also out for a duck in the following over. Siraj took his five wickets in just 16 balls, making him the fastest Indian to ever record a five-wicket haul in an ODI.
After dismissing Kusal Mendis for 17, Siraj achieved his first six-wicket haul in his career. Wasim Jaffer and Dinesh Karthik, among other former Indian cricketers, praised the 29-year-old in social media messages. The former Indian cricketers were impressed by the six wickets in just 5.2 overs.
