Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, returned to Lok Sabha on Monday with his membership in the Lower House restored, more than four months after he was disqualified.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, was reinstated to the Lower House on Monday after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction in a defamation case, more than four months after he was removed from office.
Following a Monday notice from the Lok Sabha secratariat, Rahul Gandhi’s reinstatement as an MP was approved. Following the SC judgement on Friday, a Lok Sabha notification announcing Gandhi’s reinstatement as an MP stated that the disqualification had ended subject to further judicial rulings.
Rahul Gandhi asked reporters, “Bhaiya aap log bhi khush lag rahein ho, ye kya ajeeb si baat hain?” as he spoke to them outside the Parliament on Monday. (Brothers, you seem joyful too; this is puzzling.)
Rahul Gandhi’s political career appears to have taken a turn for the better at a time when the Opposition bloc’s Assam-based Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has presented the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government with a no-confidence resolution in the Lok Sabha.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to be one of the primary speakers for the opposition INDIA group, which will attempt to use the motion to make a statement to the populace even though the percentages are clearly stacked against the opposition INDIA and in favor of the NDA, which is now in power.
Gandhi altered his Twitter bio from “Dis’Qualified MP” to “Member of Parliament” after having his Lok Sabha membership reinstated.
He is currently listed as an MP and a member of the Indian National Congress in his Twitter bio.
The lower house of the parliament has set up August 8–10 for discussion of the no-confidence motion.
Rahul Gandhi’s MP status being restored may have given the Congress party the boost it needed inside the Lok Sabha prior to the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, in which the BJP hopes to win a third consecutive term and the Opposition INDIA bloc hopes to usurp and overthrow the ruling dispensation.
