In the next iOS 17 update, Apple is moving the End button on iPhones to the right side of the screen. The order of other call functions will also change.
Apple users are well aware that the “End” button is currently placed prominently, positioned centrally towards the lowest portion of the screen, and set slightly apart from other call-related options. The red “End” indicator will now be located on the right side of the screen in the future iOS 17, which is expected to go official later this autumn. According to AP, this alteration will be complemented by the downward shifting of additional features to fit the new configuration.
Apple reportedly released a preview guide for iOS 17 back in June, but recently, interest has reportedly increased as users test out beta copies of the upcoming software update. This week, a number of news outlets posted a series of photos taken from the beta versions of iOS 17, showing this small change that might annoy some users.
The source continues, “Additional adjustments have been made to the arrangement of other call functionalities present in earlier iOS iterations in addition to moving the end button.” Notably, the “Mute” and “Speaker” buttons have been switched around to correspond with the “FaceTime” and “Keyboard” options. Additionally, it appears that the add call feature and the ability to search for contacts have been integrated.
Apple has a beta programme that allows a restricted group of customers to test out software before it is made available to the general public, according to information on its website. Apple uses the information obtained from these participants to fix bugs and improve software before it is released on the market.
Along with possible changes to call icon locations, iOS 17 is anticipated to provide a number of brand-new capabilities to Apple consumers. These include of improvements to autocorrect, the launch of a new journal app, and live transcription of voicemails, which enables users to respond and accept calls while a caller is still leaving a message.
